Again this blog seems to have been swept aside to make way for all the other "more important" things that seem to keep rearing their annoying heads...! On the up side however I am just at the start of a rather overdue two week holiday in Canada :) :) so maybe I'll get a little more time to write.. or maybe not ;)
E.x.i.t.
With regards to game development I again haven't really had much chance to sit down and get on with things - I've extended Exit's animation set to include Running Turn, Running Slide and Wall Flip however. But as you can imagine key frame animation takes a while, so am the moment it feels like there's a long slog yet till i get anything ready to show. I did however have a play with a fire effect I purchased from a script site (I could have coded it myself but as you know time is ever against me). The script itself is very well put together and should allow me to add the fire effects that I wanted in to the game. Adding fire as easily as just painting on a layer. This should mean I can have the wall of fire chasing the main character, which would be integral to keeping the games pace.
Twilight - a long way till morning
Twilight again has come to a halt :( I'm still refining the ideas however, and i do have more level designs now at least. I've even finished off the Church. But these have all been little bits and pieces I've been able to fit in. Unfortunately unless my job (and my gf ;) calms down.. I wont get back in to any heavy programming.
ICICLE
A project which I vowed to give up on - as it seemed impossible to finish (mainly because for some reason my mind was unable to keep it simple) - has had a slight revival but in the form of something else. I'm not going to add much here as it could just all fall apart again. But I'm finding that rather than have the 3/4 hour blocks of time I need to invest on any of my games, I'm still having a spare hour now an again... This is useless in order to get in to anything complicated, but for the simplified ICICLE project it's perfect, so I'll see what happens. Think CMS, but in small packages.
